About the Engine

The Engine is a full-service advisory platform dedicated to science ventures. We provide legal, finance, brand and recruitment support to science ventures that have completed their first institutional round of fundraising and need to set up core operations before hitting the market. The Engine counts over 40 legal, finance, brand and recruitment professionals who have held managerial roles within some of the leading science companies in the world including Arm, AstraZeneca and SpaceX and are now looking to work on the future of science.

 

About the role

Starting this fall, we are looking to bring onboard an Operator in Residence (OiR) to help us work with our venture clients. This is a role for a seasoned operations leader with experience gained within a scale up venture or within a consultancy firm. Working from home is welcome, preferably within easy reach of London, Oxford or Cambridge where the majority of our clients are based.

A core part of what we do is to centralise the different strategic and operational needs of the clients, coordinate delivery from our pool of professionals and make sure that all deliverables are met.

As the OiR you will have a pivotal role in:

1. the onboarding and management of all new clients

2. helping clients set up a plan of action for all operations with clearly defined timelines

3. select the most appropriate Engine professional to deliver on all activities

4. acting as an extension of the client's team for all matters related with the Engine with real-time communications with the management team of the client

5. working alongside one of the partners at Wilbe to define and execute on key client strategies and the overall Engine management
